Overview

OpKey allows it’s users to record actions performed on a web application and mobile device(s) by using OpKey Native or OpKey Smart Recorder. While recording on Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox, you can choose OpKey Native or Smart Recorder. Google Chrome browser and Mobile Recorder is integrated with OpKey Smart Recorder.

With the help of OpKey Recorder (Native/Smart Recorder), you can easily create your Test Case by recording actions performed on web or mobile application and play them back. Mozilla Firefox requires a plugin named Selenium IDE for recording actions.

Prerequisites for recording using Mozilla Firefox

There are few prerequisites to record the actions performed on a web application on Mozilla Firefox browser:

  • Installing OpKey Selenium IDE Recorder.xpi file
  • Mozilla Firefox should be installed on the machine.
  • Recorder of both Selenium IDE & OpKey should be in "ON" state before using the Record feature.
  • Make sure that the port number provided for both OpKey & Selenium IDE recorder should be same (Refer Installing Selenium IDE for OpKey part for more help)

Note: If you do not have the OpKey Selenium IDE Recorder.xpi file installed on your machine, then click here to download it now.

Prerequisites for recording using Google Chrome

Our OpKey Smart Recorder is a framework that encourages faster automation by recording each task performed by the user. Before using, OpKey users must install OpKey Smart Recorder on their local machines when creating test cases and functional libraries to record actions performed on web applications.

For first-time users of OpKey Smart Recorder, users will be re-directed to installation automatically prior to proceeding to recording sessions.

While creating a Test Case or Function Library by recording actions performed on a web application then ensure that OpKey Smart Recorder is installed on your machine. If you are using ‘OpKey Smart Recorder’ for the first time then you are redirected to install it before proceeding with the recording session.

For detailed information on OpKey Smart Recorder, you can refer: Installing OpKey Smart Recorder
