Installing Java on Windows


 

Opkey requires Java 8 or newer versions. Click Here to download the required version. 

 

Under the Downloads menu, click the link that corresponds to the installer for your version of Windows. 

 

 

 

 

 

You must have administrative privileges to install the Java on Microsoft Windows. Start the Java 8 Installer by double-clicking the installer's icon or file name in the download location. 

 
 

 

 
 

Click OK to proceed with the installation. 


 
 

Java Installation is in progress. 


 
 

After a successful  installation on your Windows machine, you'll receive the following message. 

 

 
 

Next, you must configure the Environment Variable Path.

 

Configuration of Java Environment Variable Path: 

 

Before using Opkey Web, you must set up the Java Environment Variable path on your machine by following these steps: 

 

Go to Control Panel and then System. 


Click Advanced system settings. 

 
 

 

 

 

Navigate to the Advanced tab and click Environment Variables. 

 

 

 
 

Go to the System Variables tab and click on New. 

Enter JAVA_HOME as the Variable Name and the Path of the installed JDK as a Variable Value. 

Click OK. Close other windows while clicking OK. 

 
 

 

 
 

Java Variable path has been configured successfully. 

 

How to check what Java Version is installed on your Windows machine? 

You can easily check the version of Java installed on your machine with the below-given instructions: 

  • Open the command prompt (Press Windows with R & type CMD). 

  • Type Java -version and press enter. 

  • Java Version installed on the machine can be viewed easily.
